Luisa Solms

Luisa is a second-year PhD student at the department of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. The well-being and personal development of PhD students are central themes in her research.
What factors determine PhD students’ well-being? What resources help PhD students to navigate themselves successfully through their PhD? How can we develop effective interventions?
With their podcast ‘PhD unplugged’ Luisa hopes to create a platform for PhD students of all disciplines, in all phases of their PhD. It’s a chance to share your experience ‘unplugged’, and to gain advice from a professional coach. This is our way of building a sense of community among PhD students!
Luisa loves to spend time outdoors. She just came back from a hike through the Alps.

Lara Solms

Lara is fourth-year PhD student at the department of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam and the Erasmus Medical Center.
After studying psychology in Germany and the Netherlands, Lara has been working on the topic of professional coaching for the past four years. Is coaching effective? How does it work? Her research seeks to inform healthcare professionals (and others) about the benefits that coaching can have for their personal and professional development.
Lara has a passion for research that can bridge theory and practice and interventions that can help people thrive in their work and private life.
After work, Lara likes to spend time in nature, running and hiking, or doing yoga. She knows the best coffee spots in town and in the evenings you can find her dancing swing.
